Undergraduate students create museum exhibits

Hannah Kolcinski and Abby West are both students at the University of Minnesota studying Anthropology and Biology. During an externship project offered by MVHM curator and director Marisa Kuennen, they created exhibits to update our displays in Room 202 of the Pomeroy Alumni Center and the hallway near Dean Molgaard's office.

Museum Celebrates New Veterinary History Book

The museum hosted a public launch celebration for the book on October 21 at the College of Veterinary Medicine, co-hosted by Alpha Psi fraternity. Fifty-two people attended, including many students.

Some Veterinary Museum Accomplishments

The museum has enjoyed free space and other services provided by the College of Veterinary Medicine since 1985. We are grateful to the college for providing space since that time. There will be exciting developments in 2023 as our relationship with the CVM changes.

We are working to expand our Board of Directors with people interested in our museum through our transition. Please contact one of our officers if you’re interested in serving!

Our New Curator

Mari Kuennen joined our staff in April as curator. A student at the University of St. Thomas, she is pursuing a Master of Arts in Art History and a Graduate Certificate in Museum Studies.

Minnesota Historical & Cultural Heritage Grant Success

On December 9, 2022 Minnesota Historical Society awarded a grant to the MVHM for our transition to a new museum software management system. This new software will allow access for online viewing of our historic photographs and documents.
