The Morgan Animal Hospital was erected in 1936 as the first structure designed in Minneapolis as a small animal veterinary clinic. Dr. Ora Morgan was a graduate of the prestigious Kansas City Veterinary College in 1914. Paul Maravelas our museum curator used his sleuthing skills to find and contact a grandson. We were searching for a great portrait for our museum collection, one of 2 portraits donated is included on this page. A broader delight for me were the personal reflections about Dr. "Pappy" Morgan and Dr. Bennett Porter Sr. (Founder of the Park Pet Hospital in St. Louis Park about 1948 and my grandfather).
