Congratulations to veterinary student Courtney Labé (CVM '25) for researching and writing an essay on Becoming Mr. Turkey: The Career of Dr. Benjamin S. Pomeroy . The American Veterinary Medical History Society's J. F. SMITHCORS STUDENT VETERINARY HISTORY ESSAY CONTEST awarded her fourth place with 26 papers submitted. Quite an accomplishment. She is the first University of Minnesota CVM participant since 2002. Her participation was also supported with a stipend from the MVHM, and our museum hopes to find another scholar for next year's submissions due on April 15, 2024.
